1. Veterans Receive Record Pay Increase

Starting on January 1, 2023, veterans and beneficiaries who receive VA compensation benefits will experience an 8.7% rise in their monthly payments. This is the most substantial increase in over three decades. The yearly COLA increase is linked to the Social Security rate adjustment and is based on the consumer price index (CPI). The CPI, provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, assesses the average changes in the cost of urban goods and services.
